We’re looking for a pro-active, solution-oriented and result driven Assistant Facility Manager to join our Facility Management team, who will ensure that our in-house advanced research facilities are well-maintained, safe and fully equipped and utilized. You’ll work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure seamless facility operations and will take full operational lead during his absence.
You are good at planning and coordination of facility processes. Communication on all levels is one of your strengths. You understand the importance of safety measures and alarm notification procedures.
You have at least 1 to 2 years of experience as Assistant Facility Manager or Facility Coordinator. You are able to document procedures and processes. You are familiar with most aspects of high-tech clean room facilities, including climate control, electricity and the use of gases such as compressed air and nitrogen. You are pragmatic and hands-on and do not shy away from putting on your safety shoes and work clothes to assist in small maintenance or technical tasks such as exchanging filters or mounting related work

cosine is a Dutch company with branches in Germany and Italy. Our head office in Sassenheim is located in the heart of the Randstad and houses extensive technical facilities such as cleanrooms, vacuum equipment, optical laboratories and assembly, testing and calibration facilities.

Responsibilities & tasks

  • Ensure smooth, compliant, and reliable operation of cleanrooms, environmental chambers, and technical infrastructure used for hardware assembly and testing for space operations;
  • Maintain detailed documentation, logs, and validation records;
  • Further develop and maintain procedures and protocols to deal with malfunctions, alarms and remediation;
  • Monitor system performance, implement improvements, and contribute to energy-efficiency and sustainability efforts;
  • Support planning and organising preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems, process gas distribution (e.g., nitrogen, argon, hydrogen), vacuum systems, DI water, compressed air, and power supply systems;
  • Supervise (external) technicians and contractors performing work in regulated, contamination-sensitive areas;
  • Assist with planning and executing facility upgrades, expansions, and infrastructure projects in close cooperation with the relevant R & D asset managers;
  • Serve as acting Facility Manager during leave periods, maintaining operational oversight and stakeholder communication;
  • Occasional off-shift work or call-outs as needed for critical system support.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Facility Management, Facility Engineering or other relevant education;
  • 1-2 years of experience in facilities operations or technical infrastructure management, ideally in the aerospace or high-tech R&D sector;
  • Understanding of cleanroom operations, environmental control systems, and critical utility infrastructure or willing to learn;
  • Familiarity with relevant facility management tools like CalemEAM and Grafana;
  • Experience with writing and updating procedures and instructions, maintain technical drawings, convert facility procedures into training modules with a strong focus on safety;
  • Able to think abstractly, maintain helicopter view on the one hand, whilst being pragmatic and solution-oriented on the other side;
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment;
  • Fluent in Dutch. Ability to understand, speak and write English in a professional working environment. German and Italian would be beneficial;
  • Effective communication skills across multidisciplinary teams;
  • VCA-VOL would be beneficial.
