Position Title: Manager – BARS Audit Production & Quality Services
Reports To: Manager – BARS Technical Services
Since 1945, Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) has been the independent, international non-profit dedicated to advancing global aviation safety through research, education, and advocacy. Our Montreal office is expanding its expertise across priority safety initiatives—including the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Program. BARS is an internationally recognized risk-based standard and audit program for contracted aviation operations, used by resource, utility, RPAS, humanitarian, and other sectors to elevate safety performance. With our office in Melbourne, Australia—and now in Montreal, Canada—we are broadening our global footprint to deliver BARS services with greater reach, responsiveness, and impact. For the past fifteen years, BARS has been delivering a consistent set of standards, an independent audit process via approved Audit Companies, and data-driven insights that help operators and their clients manage risk with confidence.
We are seeking a Manager – BARS Audit Production & Quality Services in our Montreal Branch Office to lead the integrated audit production workflow and quality assurance functions—ensuring audits are scheduled, delivered, and assessed to the highest standards of integrity, consistency, and member service.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, engineering, quality. Experience in flight operations, fixed-wing or helicopter desired.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in aviation audit, quality assurance, or operational oversight roles, preferably within a global or complex operational environment.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems and audit program compliance requirements; strong working knowledge of SMS practices; experience coordinating audits and managing corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating large-scale audit programs, including scheduling, logistics, and quality oversight.
  • Experience in statistical reporting and data-driven decision-making.
  • Track record of building productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including operators, audit companies, and regulators.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple audits and priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain quality in high-volume operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and addressing systemic issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, globally distributed team.

    Pay: $110,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
