The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Implementing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of this approach for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates; as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.

Responsibilities

The position of Aviation Operations Officer based at East Sale is to execute current flight schedules for the 5428 Pilot Program. You will be required to gather, summarise, interpret, report, and maintain information regarding schedule activity to plan and develop current flight schedules.

This will involve the completion of tasks including but not limited to:

  • Prepare and maintain relevant flying information utilising the PTS OPS briefing displays.
  • Prepare and deliver daily unit flying brief.
  • Obtain relevant NOTAM information from NAIPS and the Base Command Post.
  • Provision of up-to-date meteorological information from the meteorology office via Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) staff and internet-based services.
  • Disseminate general information to PTS East Sale units as required.
  • Manage the Daily Flying Program (DFP) to facilitate PTS East Sale flying operations.
