Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Aviation Site Lead to oversee the daily operations of the hangar located in Eugene, Oregon. Duties will be performed in an aircraft hangar as well as a forest environment. The key responsibilities of the role will be to oversee the management of the facility, coordinate the team's activities with the forestry operations and supervise the grounds team. This position reports to the Aviation Manager. Weyerhaeuser Company owns and operates multiple Bell Helicopters (212HP, 206L-4 and 206L-3), with bases in Eugene, Oregon, and Chehalis, Washington. Since 1947, Weyerhaeuser Aviation has taken an active role in flight operations supporting the timberlands forestry operations in both states under FAR Part 91, 133 and 137. The primary focus is on stewardship of timberlands through fire suppression, fertilization, spraying and forestry recon. Our helicopter operation is supported by company personnel, including pilots, aircraft mechanics and equipment operators. Although most projects are within the local area, applicants must be willing to do occasional overnight travel while working on flight operations away from the main base. Some projects do require weekend work. Between projects, helicopters and equipment are maintained at the company hangars. Key Functions Promote and ensure a cultural of safety, sustainability and efficiency. Manager ground support staff and logistics at the Eugene Airport Base. Facilitate operational needs of the Eugene Airport Base for facilities, safety and environmental needs. Work with the Forestry teams to schedule aviation ground support team. Drive support vehicles and perform operations on the ground as needed. Coordinate and track training and staffing requirements. Coordinate maintenance of trucking, rolling stock and miscellaneous equipment needs. Maintain daily communication with drivers, foresters, and operations to ensure that the production goals are met. Respond to calls from drivers, assuring their driving activities are covered for the day and the required documentation is completed. Maintain DOT truck driving licenses. High school diploma or equivalent required, associates (or higher) degree in related field preferred. Class A CDL is required. Proven commitment to safety with knowledge of safety processes. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with employees of all levels of the organization and external customers. Work in a professional manner, taking the initiative to get the job done, and building customer relationships with strong people skills. Strong organizational and attention to details skills. Proficient with computer usage and data input. Work under pressure while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Able to work independently and as a team member. Ability to work variable hours. Background in truck transportation and DOT regulation preferred. Able to assist aircraft maintenance technicians. What We Offer: Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $58,830-$88,245 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5%25 of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
