ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

  • Master’s degree in IT or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience working in supporting application services and processes and/or experience working as a Product Owner.
  • Support of aviation or flight operations applications will be considered as a strong asset.
  • Experience in the airline industry will be considered as an advantage.
  • Technology oriented with in-depth understanding of functional support.
  • Ability to coordinate activity of the team and to align priorities and planning with technical teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences on various topics.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Any other language (e.g. German, French) will be considered as an advantage.
  • Coding experience would be considered as an advantage.
Responsibilities

We are looking for a Engineer to join the Flight Operations Product Support team in the Cargolux IT department. As an Aviation Systems Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing upgrades and maintenance of software applications related to our flight applications in order to streamline business processes.
  • Providing software application support under the supervision of the Senior Engineer.
  • Performing analysis on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.
  • Documenting processes and monitoring application performance.
  • Work closely with IT Integration, IT Operations and IT Architecture team on upgrade project and major release management.
  • Establishing the root causes of application errors, and escalating serious concerns to management and providers.
  • Be a business partner interface for functional evolution analysis, gathering requirements and follow up actions and timeline.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following products:

  • AIMS (Crew Management, Operations Control, and Commercial Planning System)
  • Act as administrator for AIMS
  • Report incidents and bugs communicated by business to AIMS via AIMS JIRA
  • Test new patches (bug fixes, new functionalities and modules, customizations)
  • Create and manager users and access rights
  • Crew Planning module: maintain the crew schedule codes, rules, and regulations, eCrew (mobile) application, vacation module
  • Quality and Compliance Monitoring module: IQSMS reports for EASA delayed reporting system and other AIMS-related ASRs
  • HR: AIMS to SAP interface implementation for automated creation and update of crew data
  • Lido: (Technical) User support and bug reporting to Lufthansa Industries
  • Jeppesen: Testing within the team on different Jeppesen products (BAM, Pairing, Rostering)
