Description:
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
- Prior experience in analog and digital telephony technologies, IP networks, and IP routing disciplines
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER
- Project Leadership: Proven experience in leading and executing project plans effectively.
- Network Engineering: Proficiency in network engineering, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- VHF/HF Radio Systems: Knowledge of VHF/HF radio systems and their integration into communication networks.
- Technology Innovation: Ability to identify and implement new technologies to replace outdated systems, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Expertise in implementing security protocols to protect communication systems from vulnerabilities.
- Technical Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to effectively diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Vendor Management: Experience managing relationships with equipment vendors and service providers.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

As an Implementation Systems Engineer, Aviation Voice Services you will join our elite team responsible for revolutionizing the Aviation Voice Services industry. We lead the seamless delivery of cutting-edge communication solutions to the air transport sector, ensuring flawless Air Traffic Control and Aeronautical Operational Control support across all channels.
Our Communications Centers in California and New York provide message relay and phone patch services throughout the western hemisphere ensuring aircraft safety through the reliable delivery of over 2,000,000 messages per year. They use high frequency radios to relay messages from aircraft (commercial, civil and military) via our Air Ground Terminal System to FAA Oceanic Control Centers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage Air/Ground radio infrastructure by overseeing air-to-ground radio communication system setup, maintenance, and optimization.
- Configure Network appliances and Routers; our team implements and manages network and router configurations to ensure seamless communication
- Coordinate station moves by planning and executing the relocation of communication stations to optimize network performance and radio coverage.
- Handle Frequency License Requests/Modifications. You will prepare and submit frequency license applications and modifications as needed.
- Coordinate and manage the processing of network Circuit Orders/Disconnects
- Work closely with our Field Service Technicians by directing and dispatching them for on-site support and maintenance.
- Lead deployment planning by developing and leading plans for network and equipment upgrades to enhance system capabilities.
- Manage and update Voice Communication Switches by performing configuration updates ensuring up-to-date and secure operations.
- Undertake and manage special projects as assigned, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Travel to our communication centers in San Francisco, CA, and Long Island, NY, as required (up to 25%).
