We are actively recruiting for licensed Avionics Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s (AME’s) from across Canada to join our HeavyAero teams in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta.
Reporting to the Production Manager / Base Manager, the AME – E is responsible for the servicing, repair and certification of aircraft electrical and electronic systems in accordance with the policy and procedures defined in both the HeavyAero Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM), the applicable Avionics Control Manual.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of all related regulatory requirements and Safety Management Systems (SMS) & safe work practices
  • Proven success working in unpredictable environment
  • Post-Secondary education in recognised Aircraft Maintenance/Avionics Engineer Program
  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer ‘E’ License required
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer in Avionics
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid work permit
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in the HeavyAero Safety Management System and Quality Assurance programs
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, including planning and organizing works tasks
  • Perform maintenance on aircraft avionics systems such as pitot static, communication, navigation, autopilot, flight management, and electrical systems, in compliance with Transport Canada regulations
  • Modify avionics systems based on manufacturer service bulletins, engineering instructions, and Transport Canada-approved certifications
  • Ensure proper certification of all installed components on aircraft
  • Complete accurate and timely technical record entries and submit Service Difficulty Reports in line with regulatory requirements
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the cleanliness, safety, and readiness of facilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate Technical Record entries are completed as required
  • Identify defects and ensure Service Difficulty Reports are submitted for structures in accordance with the regulatory requirements
  • Ensure all applicable equipment is properly maintained and facilities are clean, safe and appropriately equipped
  • Provide mentorship and supervision of non-licensed personnel ensuring that critical knowledge and workmanship is transferred to them
  • Lead by example and be a positive role model for others to follow
  • Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by management
  • Respect and uphold all the Company policies, procedures & performance expectations
