Description INTRODUCTION The Avionics Technician will assist with aviation maintenance tasks in accordance with company maintenance manuals and Federal Aviation Regulations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform maintenance and repair of avionics components, and assist with powerplants, airframes, and other components in accordance with company’s and manufacturer’s maintenance policies and procedures. Perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Perform aircraft push-backs from the gate; assist maintenance personnel in moving aircraft to and from hard stand parking. Assist maintenance personnel in performing nightly aircraft exterior washes and nightly engine compressor and turbine washes. Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. Serve as a role model for ethical behavior, maintain a professional and dignified work environment, and promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent. Airframes & Powerplants Certificate (or ability to test), required. Minimum two years of aviation maintenance / avionics experience, preferred. Valid driver’s license and insurable record through Empire’s policy, required. Must be computer literate and have strong communications skills, both oral and written. Must be capable of operating hand and power tools for minor repair work, required. Must adhere to the company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program, required. WORKING CONDITIONS Work may be performed in a hangar environment and may require considerable outside work with 25% travel. Will be exposed to noise and hazards associated with aircraft maintenance. Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time. May be required to lift up to 80 pounds, plus ladder/lift usage. Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business. Work schedule may include nights, weekends and holidays. PAY & BENEFITS This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Starting pay for this position is $28.53 - $33.37 per hour, depending on certifications and experience.
