SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Proven expertise in developing predictive and prescriptive analytical models using business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages like SQL, R, and/or Python, with experience leveraging various statistical analyses and machine learning techniques (e.g., data mining, regression, time-series analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in business process analysis, root cause analysis, and strengthening operational controls.
  • Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience extracting and transforming data from multiple sources to support dashboard development; knowledge of Alteryx is preferred.

EDUCATION

Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or any other similar, quantitative field required with at least 5 + years of related work experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a similar quantitative field with 7+ years of demonstrated related work experience.
Responsibilities:

The AVP Business Intelligence role is critical to the advancement of the Moody’s Ratings Business Intelligence and Process Measurement strategy. This position will leverage advanced analytics, various statistical analyses, and machine learning techniques to help senior leaders across the organization make informed, data-driven decisions that support and improve the end-to-end credit rating process.

  • Develop and implement predictive and prescriptive analytical models using business intelligence tools to discover historical patterns, forecast trends, and identify potential risks.
  • Leverage various statistical analyses and machine learning techniques (e.g., data mining, regression, time-series analysis, decision trees) to generate insights and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Perform root cause analysis, remediation, and process improvements to strengthen operational controls and enhance business process efficiencies.
  • Establish and maintain data quality standards, implementing processes to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and consistency while protecting sensitive data.
  • Improve testing standards to drive data integrity, ensuring back-end data connections and workflows are efficient and stable while maintaining reliable front-end reports.
  • Lead and champion cross-functional projects to implement operational and control improvements, delivering new process capabilities and addressing evolving business requirements.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on end-to-end Rating Processes, regulatory policies, and supporting operational procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in business intelligence and data science to continually evolve analytical insights.
