ARE YOU A LEADER THAT CAN ACT AS THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT FOR THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY- OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT AND FOR ALL IN CREDIT UNION?

The AVP IT - Operations position is an executive leadership position with staff supervision and is responsible for the enterprise-wide management of LAN/WAN environments including data centers, wireless and cloud computing, virtual server, storage, and system administration, and end-user computing and network infrastructure. This includes leading a group of highly trained staff to provide high quality, timely support to end users as well as managing an enterprise level hardware and software environment. The AVP IT - Operations is responsible for strategies and tactics that ensure consistently high levels of IT service performance, and will manage, prioritize, and coordinate workloads and efforts across teams to meet the organization’s objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Experience: At least 5 years of continuous experience managing and leading IT server, network, helpdesk, and security infrastructure operations.

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Advanced management experience with Data Center, end-user computing and networking technologies and standards.
  • Extensive experience of Data Center and network software and Life Cycle Management including testing methods, best practices and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Proficient in managing personnel, customer relationships, performance and finances.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to analyze situations, respond independently, prioritize to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and be a team player while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • High level of objectivity, tact, and diplomacy to establish and maintain effective ongoing relationships between management, employees and business partners.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher, with emphasis on Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or equivalent.
Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position. Work frequently involves contacts requiring considerable discussion of problems, material presentations, and resolving issues impacting departments or divisions.

Other Skills: Previous financial institution experience preferred

  • Must have excellent resource management, project planning, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work and travel independently and use general office equipment.
  • Knowledge of BSA/OFAC compliance and be able to assist employees with questions concerning BSA.

Responsibilities

-Develops short- and long-term strategies for the organization’s computing environment including server and computer hardware and software products, wide area communications, and network and systems security and access controls.

  • Directs the administration of network support, information security, and help desk teams including performance monitoring, project reporting, priority setting, and staff management.
  • Oversees planning and management of the organization’s network and PC/LAN environment.
  • Leads information technology project management including the development and implementation of project management best practices and tools.
  • Develops and executes tactical elements of strategic information technology plans to address the evolving needs of the Credit Union and its members.
  • Participates in short and long-range planning for the department to select and utilize appropriate software, hardware, enhancements, tools, etc. to meet the evolving needs of the credit union and its members.
  • Continuously monitors the adequacy and performance of existing systems and information management capabilities to meet member and organization needs.
  • Ensures application and infrastructure service SLAs are established and service and operational metrics are collected and reviewed on a regular basis with SVP of Technology & Operations.
  • Manages production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation and effective communication to business, technology and vendor partners.
  • Develops and maintains effective and productive working relationships with user departments, senior managers, and vendors.
  • Participates in Credit Union management issues through standing and ad hoc committees.
