Job Overview: LPL is seeking to hire an Assistant Vice President to join the alternative investments team within Wealth Management (WM). The primary responsibility of this role will be to conduct operational due diligence on prospective and current alternative investments. This position reports to the VP, Alternative Investments. The role will involve collaboration with multiple internal groups and require strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work within tight deadlines and changing priorities. The AVP will contribute substantially to the WM group’s goal of delivering a world-class alternative investments platform.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience in the financial services product industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operational due diligence for alternative investments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including navigating complex business relationships
Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments and comprehensive operational due diligence on alternative investment opportunities, including reviewing DDQs, conducting interviews with appropriate personnel, confirming service providers, detailed analysis of operational processes, and thorough research of sponsor firms.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate operational risks associated with potential and existing alternative investments.
  • Prepare and present detailed operational due diligence reports, summarizing findings and providing recommendations.
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of product sponsors and fund managers on a regular basis to ensure compliance with established standards and identify material risks as early as possible.
  • Work with multiple internal stakeholders on the successful implementation of our strategic initiatives.
  • Develop strong relationships with product sponsors and industry professionals to further the firm’s advancement of our strategic vision.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in operational due diligence and risk management.
