Summary The Associate Vice President (AVP) Physician Services provides enterprise leadership to enhance patient access to care, strengthen physician services operations, and drive operational excellence across service lines. This role is accountable for designing and executing strategies that improve throughput, standardize care delivery models, and prepare the organization for growth, value-based care, and clinically integrated network (CIN) expansion. Serving as a key partner to physician leaders, clinical operations, and system executives, the AVP ensures high-quality, timely, and patient-centered care delivery across the enterprise. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities At the AVP level, responsibilities emphasize enterprise strategy, system integration, and measurable performance outcomes: Enterprise Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute system-wide strategies to optimize patient access to care, throughput, and care delivery performance. Serve as a strategic advisor to physician leaders and system executives on operational readiness for growth and CIN expansion. Lead change management initiatives to modernize care delivery and strengthen physician services across all service lines. Operational Excellence Establish and enforce standardized clinical workflows, staffing models, and operational best practices across physician services. Drive improvements in provider productivity, capacity utilization, and clinic performance to achieve enterprise benchmarks. Align physician operations with inpatient, procedural, and ancillary services to ensure seamless care coordination. Performance Management Define and monitor enterprise key performance indicators (KPIs) related to access to care, throughput, quality, patient experience, and financial performance. Leverage data analytics and dashboards to identify performance gaps and lead system-wide improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards across physician services operations. Partnership & Engagement Collaborate with physician leaders, nursing, advanced practice providers, and operational teams to optimize care team effectiveness. Strengthen physician engagement and adoption of standardized care delivery models. Partner with system executives to align operational strategies with organizational growth and value-based care priorities. Growth & Integration Support enterprise growth strategies, including site expansion, service line development, and acquisition integration. Prepare physician services operations for CIN readiness and value-based care delivery models. Lead integration of new practices and services into standardized operational frameworks. Perform all other related executive functions and duties as assigned to support the mission and strategic objectives of Jackson Health System. Experience Requires a minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in physician services and clinical operations with ambulatory focus. Education Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field is required. Master's degree in related field is preferred. Unit Specific Competencies: Must possess excellent communication skills with demonstrated strength in effective negotiations. Must have prior familiarity and comfort with financial data; understanding of clinical processes and billing (e.g., physician RVU data, clinical instruction ratios, etc.) is required.
