POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a AVP Regional Dean at Galen College of Nursing, you will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all the programs and activities that support student education and retention at the campuses assigned. Provides the leadership necessary to fulfill the mission, objectives, plans and goals of the College. The AVP, Regional Dean is the academic leader is the academic leader responsible for leading, supervision, and mentoring, their assigned campus(es)deans and/or associate deans to ensure proper execution of the day-to-day campus academic operations, workload, staffing, clinical operations, simulation, and student support services.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Graduate degree in Nursing and a Doctoral Degree in nursing or a related field, from an accredited institution, required.
Experience: Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive leadership experience in campus operations and/or nursing education programs. Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills. A strong working knowledge about nursing education, higher education policy, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards required. Ability to effectively and persuasively present strategic initiatives to industry leaders and senior management.
Licensure & Special Qualifications (where applicable): Per State Board of Nursing Requirements
Physical Requirements: Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment: Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making. Physical demands in the classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum).
Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis.
Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
Travel will be required.
