About the Role: Reporting to the Head of Casualty, this position will be a key senior member of our reinsurance underwriting team, responsible for analyzing and pricing casualty treaty business. This is a hybrid position (3 days in office/2 days remote) based in our Bermuda office. Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to): Underwrite and price new and renewal North American casualty treaty business across general liability, workers compensation, auto, umbrella/excess, and professional lines. Develop and maintain strong broker and client relationships; negotiate terms and conditions that align with profitability goals. Lead underwriting reviews and client meetings, preparing concise reports and insights for management. Partner with Actuarial, Claims, and Contract Wording teams to structure optimal treaty solutions. Support the Head of Casualty in setting premium, expense, and operating budgets, and executing business plans. Monitor portfolio performance through regular analysis of results, loss trends, and exposure metrics. Represent the company in the marketplace, promoting brand visibility and identifying new business opportunities. Mentor and develop junior underwriters and contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting practices. Participate in underwriting committees and provide updates on market trends, performance, and key issues. Your Qualifications: You have 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in casualty underwriting, with strong exposure to reinsurance being a plus. You bring in-depth knowledge of North American casualty lines, including General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Professional Liability (including D&O), and optionally Cyber. You’ve demonstrated a proven track record of profitable underwriting, backed by strong analytical and negotiation skills. You maintain strong relationships with key brokers and cedants in the casualty market. You can communicate and present with confidence and clarity, showing executive presence. You're proficient in IT and data analysis, and comfortable leveraging systems for underwriting and reporting. You have a leadership mindset and the ability to guide, influence, and develop team members. You hold a bachelor’s degree, and professional designations such as CPCU, ARe, ACII, or equivalent are preferred.
