SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a strong background in sales and marketing.
  • Proven expertise in Debt Capital Markets and ability to interpret financial statements to assess client needs and strategies.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); French language skills are a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to defend pricing and contract terms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with C-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to independently manage a portfolio of complex accounts and conduct high-level client meetings.
  • Deep understanding of financial instruments and capital markets dynamics within the region.
  • Proficiency in preparing competitive proposals and supervising tender documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region.

EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate / First Level degree (or equivalent) required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow relationships with approximately 75+ key accounts, including Governments, Sub Sovereigns, Corporates, and Financial Institutions.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, ensuring client retention and revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute tailored value propositions to expand share of wallet.
  • Lead commercial negotiations for new and renewal contracts, including fee structures.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic proposals and bidding processes.
  • Collaborate with Pan-African affiliates and internal VPs to build a robust business development pipeline.
  • Provide strategic input into market expansion plans and franchise relevance initiatives.
  • Represent the Relationship Management team in internal cross-functional meetings.
  • Mentor and guide RM Associates, fostering professional development and team cohesion.
  • Support other sub-regions as needed and contribute feedback to Product Management for innovation.
