QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field AND at least 7 years’ experience across multiple IT areas OR 10 years’ application development experience (in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 5 years full-stack development using Spring (Spring Boot), Java EE, RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and modern UI frameworks
  • At least 3 years’ experience with Junit, Jmeter, Postman or comparable testing tools
  • At least 2 years’ hands-on experience with React JS, Angular JS, Node.js or similar frameworks
  • At least 2 years’ experience on Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, or similar PaaS
  • At least 2 years’ Apigee or comparable API platform experience; demonstrated experience managing production APIs and troubleshooting integration issues with external partners
  • Prior hands-on responsibility for large-scale partner integrations—with direct management of cross-company initiatives preferred
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) to engage with OnePay’s business/technical stakeholders

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

Responsibilities

ROLE SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Synchrony is looking for a talented and passionate Solution Architect to join our team, focused on supporting integrations and resiliency for OnePay, a Synchrony partner serving millions of customers in a new, first-of-its-kind credit card program for Walmart.
As the AVP, Solution Architect specializing in reliability and partner integration for OnePay, you will serve as the technical lead and SME driving end-to-end solution architecture for all systems and integrations specific to OnePay partnership initiatives. In this role, you will champion API stability, performance, and scalability, while shepherding solution design, technical delivery, and integration best practices across multiple agile teams and internal/external stakeholders.
This role calls for a unique balance of technical acumen and business insight to ensure frictionless onboarding and seamless, secure interoperability between Synchrony systems and OnePay’s ecosystem. As the primary technical liaison for OnePay integrations, you will be a key driver in delivery and ongoing reliability of our joint platforms.
