Description The National Pork Board is seeking a strategic and innovative technology leader to serve as Assistant Vice President (AVP) / Senior Director of Technology. This role is responsible for leading NPB's overall technology strategy, operations, and transformation initiatives, ensuring technology investments align with organizational goals and deliver measurable business value. The AVP/Senior Director of Technology will oversee NPB's technology portfolio, including enterprise applications, SaaS platforms, custom development, web technologies, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data governance, enterprise AI, and industry-facing technology solutions. This leader will also drive large-scale initiatives such as ERP implementations, organizational transformation efforts, and other enterprise technology projects. Responsibilities Develop and execute NPB's technology vision, strategy, and roadmap. Lead enterprise technology initiatives, including ERP implementations, digital transformation projects, and organizational change efforts. Oversee the technology portfolio, including SaaS applications, custom systems, web platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data management, and AI initiatives. Define product vision, manage product roadmaps, prioritize backlogs, and ensure technology investments maximize business value and ROI. Conduct technology evaluations, cost-benefit analyses, and buy-versus-build assessments; present recommendations to leadership. Provide enterprise architecture guidance and ensure solutions align with business objectives, scalability, and security requirements. Lead the development of technologies and services that create value for pork producers and industry stakeholders. Supervise and develop a team of five direct reports, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build strong partnerships across the organization and serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 5 years of proven experience working in a Technology environment. Project Management certification preferred. Experience leading enterprise technology organizations and large-scale initiatives such as ERP implementations, digital transformations, or major system deployments. Strong background in technology strategy, product management, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technologies. Proven ability to evaluate and implement technology solutions that improve business performance. Exceptional leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills. Outcomes-focused, collaborative leader with high integrity and a passion for innovation. Education/Experience: We welcome applicants with a range of experience. The role may be either AVP Technology or Sr. Director, IT depending on the candidate's background and qualifications. Travel Requires minimal travel, up to 10%. Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record. National Pork Board’s home office is in Clive, Iowa. Preference will be given to candidates that can work a hybrid schedule (at least 3 days per week) in the Clive office, however remote candidates may be considered. Full-time starting salary range is $135K-$185K Please note: This starting range is based on a general market pay assessment. However, individual salary decisions take into account a variety of factors including but not limited to: business and local market considerations, internal equity, and overall candidate skills, education and experience.
