Job Description Purpose of the role To independently assess and make credit decisions for complex financing transactions within the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Funds sectors, ensuring alignment with the bank's credit risk appetite and regulatory requirements and contribute to the development and implementation of credit risk policies and procedures for the Specialised Sector. Accountabilities Analysis of complex financial information and business models of LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund clients to assess their creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and potential risks. Monitoring of the performance of the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund portfolio, identifying and reporting early warning signs of potential credit deterioration. Evaluation of the risk profile of each application considering factors like industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions. Documentation credit decisions and rationale in a clear and concise manner, adhering to internal audit and regulatory reporting standards. Development and implementation of strategies to mitigate identified credit risks and optimise portfolio performance. To be successful in this role as an “Assistant Vice President - Wholesale Credit Sanctioning – LevFin ", you should possess the following skillsets: Hands on experience in corporate credit risk assessment of global credits, with a focus on the US and/or EMEA regions within the High Risk/LevFin domain. Preparing annual/periodic credit reviews for submission to senior Risk Officers and presentation in Credit Committees. Conduct ongoing monitoring of assigned portfolios, promptly notifying senior management of adverse client or segment developments and trends, and evaluating their potential impact on regulatory ratings. Actively engage and help other team members in achieving their objectives to enhance performance of the wider team. Actively support the senior credit officers for periodic regulatory examinations / Internal Audits / Complex transactions / Risk initiatives. Some other highly valued skills include: Experience in credit risk , preferably in an international banking environment, covering Leveraged and/or High Yield clients. Possess good analytical skills with attention to detail, ability to provide big picture decision making. Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and handle various competing priorities. Possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts and ideas. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. The location of the role is Mumbai.
