Description Job Summary The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with Valley Perinatal policies and in alignment with standards of professional nursing practice. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data, plan, provide and evaluate care for patients. May need to travel between offices as necessary or work remotely. Duties/Responsibilities Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to triage high-risk obstetrical related concerns as clinically appropriate. Review clinical cases with Providers as appropriate. Documents, notes, cases and all pertinent patient information appropriately in the electronic medical record. Administer and document medications. Respond to patient cases in a timely manner. Assist in care coordination for specified patent populations to ensure goals of care. Act as a resource for the broader care team within nursing scope of practice. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in collaboration with Providers, clinicians, and office staff. Assisting Providers with admitting patients to appropriate levels of care, as necessary. Performs other duties as directed. Manage lab results for the MFM/CNM providers in practice. Triage abnormal labs as appropriate. Perform case management function and ensure that antenatal care check lists are completed for VPS total MFM care patients. Assist VPS Research team with patient recruitment, venipuncture and sample collection when asked to assist. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: : Excellent listening, communication, and organizational skills. Exceptional customer service focus. Ability to interact with and develop trusting relationships with all levels of staff in a variety of departments. Experience assessing, trouble shooting and making sound recommendations in stressful situations. Ability to effectively prioritize, multiple patient or Provider requests. Education /Experience Must possess a current, valid RN License in Arizona BSN (Preferred) 3 years minimum experience in an outpatient setting Prior OB or MFM office experience preferred Current CPR Certification Current TB, Hep B vaccines Bilingual a plus Additional certification for continuing education may be required Physical Requirements Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals Must be able to lift up to 30lbs
