Job Summary As an Awlgrip Technician, you’ll perform basic boat preparation for painting, as well as spray finish coats to the desired thickness. Additionally, you’ll produce high-quality finishes, blend and repair surfaces. Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Tape or protect surrounding surfaces from overspray during painting process. Clean, sand, and smooth surfaces using appropriate tools. Perform longboarding using fairing compounds. Maintenance: Set up and dismantle staging. Clean boats and work area daily. Administrative: Process billing and materials used during project. Communicate with customers when needed. Perform additional duties assigned to support production goals. Quality Assurance: Inspect painted surfaces for quality and consistency. Perform all work to the Hinckley Company Standards. Safety Compliance: Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Other: All duties as assigned. Requirements Experience: Minimum two (2) years of experience in auto body or marine paint applications. Physical Requirements: Lift and carry over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs. on a frequent basis. Certifications: Vocational, high school diploma, or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required. Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment. Qualifications Familiarity with Awlgrip or similar marine coating systems. Proficient in sanding, masking, and painting techniques. Comfortable using pneumatic tools and spray equipment. Basic math and computer skills for documentation and billing.
