POSITION: AWS BACKEND DEVELOPER

Location: Downtown Toronto, Ontario (must be eligible to work in Canada)
Work Setting: Hybrid (two days onsite)
Employment Type: Contractual
We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Backend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building and managing robust, scalable, and efficient backend solutions using AWS services and modern development frameworks. Prior experience leading projects or mentoring junior developers is a strong asset.

KEY SKILLSET:

• Strong experience in Node.js and AWS Services such as AWS Lambda, CDK, Step functions, etc. is a key requirement.
• Hands-on experience with serverless computing and event-driven architecture.
• Solid knowledge of serverless application patterns and best practices.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest.
• Understanding of microservices architecture principles.
• Experience working with both relational (RDS) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases
• Working knowledge of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
• Familiarity with modern backend frameworks and libraries
• Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Lead or team mentorship experience is considered an asset

SOFT SKILLS:

• Effective communication skills to articulate technical details and solutions
• Experience working inAgile development environments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

• 5 to 8 years of experience in similar role preferably with experience in leading team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional will get preference
