OVERVIEW

Cornerstone Technology is seeking two skilled Chatbot Engineers to support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) as part of the IT GEMS program. You’ll be part of the Customer Center Technology Modernization and Integration (CCTMI) team, leading the design and deployment of Amazon Connect and Lex v2 chatbot solutions in a DoD cloud environment (GovCloud / DISA IL4).
This role is ideal for engineers with strong AWS cloud expertise, hands-on chatbot development experience, and a passion for Conversational AI, NLP, and automation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Chatbot Developer, or similar role
• Hands-on experience with AWS Lex v2, Amazon Connect, and Lambda
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Bash, and Boto3
• Experience working with NLP, ML models, and large language models (LLMs)
• Familiarity with AWS services like S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and CloudWatch
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance
• Must meet DoD IAT Level II certification requirements (e.g., CompTIA Security+) or be able to attain certification within 30 days of hire

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience supporting Federal or DoD clients
• Background working in DISA IL4, FedRAMP High, or RMF-secured environments
• AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect or Developer – Associate)
• Experience designing Conversational IVR contact flows and self-service automation

• Configure and deploy Amazon Connect and Lex v2 for a modernized DoD contact center
• Build chat and voice bot flows using Lex and integrate with third-party systems via Lambda functions
• Leverage AWS AI/ML services including Polly, Comprehend, Transcribe, and SageMaker
• Develop LLM-backed chat features using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) techniques
• Integrate bots with backend APIs (REST/SOAP) using Python, Node.js, JavaScript, and Boto3
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Ensure compliance with FedRAMP Moderate/High and DISA Impact Level 4 (IL4) security controls
