REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • U.S. citizenship and activeSECRETGovernment Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
  • At least two years of experience designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining AWS solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development and deployment.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment and following Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices, including automation, continuous delivery, continuous deployment, and continuous integration methodologies.
  • Experience in FedRAMP approved MAC and/or MAG Cloud environments.
  • Ability to problem-solve individually or with team members.
  • Experience with customer facing efforts.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four or more years hands-on experience with production AWS environments.
  • Experience migrating existing on-premises applications to AWS.
  • Advanced AWS Technical Certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Government and Microsoft Azure Commercial.
  • Experience at Department of State.
    Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum 12 years with BS/BA (high school diploma or equivalent AND four additional years of experience may substitute for degree); Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Peraton is seeking an AWS Cloud Architect to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Department of State (DOS) Consular Affairs Enterprise Infrastructure Operations (CAEIO) Program, for the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA). This initiative provides IT Operations and Maintenance to modernize the legacy networks, applications, and databases supporting CA services globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop AWS architectural diagrams, deploy, and maintain enterprise AWS capabilities in support of modernized Consular Affairs systems to include:
  • Infrastructure - Network, Compute, and Storage
  • Cloud Management, Monitoring and Security
  • Identity Management integrated with Okta
  • Cost and Resource Management within AWS
  • Develop AWS architectural diagrams that detail integrations between on-premises and cloud components.
  • Support the development and engineering of AWS capabilities that meet Application and Database requirements for Disaster Recovery of domestic and overseas systems.
  • Collaborate with team members in Engineering, Operations, and Security to develop solutions that align with Federal and DOS security guidelines.
  • Support the development of automation within AWS.
  • Support Transition to Operations activities to include training of Operational personnel in management of AWS services and integration with Monitoring.
    Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    Work Location: This position is currently hybrid with remote work and up to one day per week in the office in Sterling, VA or Washington, DC.
