Description

Piper Companies is seeking a AWS Cloud Engineer to join an established IT Service company. This position is REMOTE. The AWS Cloud Engineer will design, automate, and support secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in production-grade environments with a focus on operational excellence and automation.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE AWS CLOUD ENGINEER:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in engineering, DevOps, or operations roles.
  • Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation) and reusable module development.
  • AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Admin, or DevOps Engineer).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using AWS-native tools and frameworks.
  • Experience supporting live environments, including incident management and SLA-based operations.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Fargate) and AWS security services (e.g., GuardDuty).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus) and APM platforms (e.g., New Relic).
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001) and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Strong Linux system administration skills and experience with AWS Systems Manager.
Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Automate provisioning, monitoring, and remediation using AWS-native services and scripting.
  • Provide operational support for production workloads, including participation in on-call rotations and incident response.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, maintainable, and well-documented cloud solutions.
  • Apply the AWS Well-Architected Framework to continuously improve infrastructure across key pillars.
