Job Description VAM Systems is currently looking for AWS Cloud & Infrastructure Architect for our UAE operations with the following terms and conditions: Role Summary: We are looking for a highly capable, hands-on Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture and operations, combined with strong foundations in enterprise infrastructure, systems, and automation. Must-Have Requirements (Non-Negotiable) 7–10+ years in Systems / Infrastructure Engineering AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional preferred) Strong, hands-on AWS experience (this is critical) Not theoretical — must have built and operated real environments Deep understanding of: Networking fundamentals (L3/L4/L7) Security and identity Operating systems (Linux + Windows) Proven experience in automation Experience in hybrid environments Strong troubleshooting ability across multiple layers Nice to Have (But Very Valuable) Experience with Kubernetes Exposure to media, OTT, or high-traffic platforms Database experience (strong advantage): Hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration Familiarity with: Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN backups Performance tuning and query optimization Experience with cloud databases: AWS RDS (including Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) Aurora (MySQL/PostgreSQL) Understanding of: High availability and DR for databases Backup, recovery, and replication strategies Key Responsibilities 1. AWS Cloud Ownership (Core Requirement) Architect, deploy, and manage production-grade AWS environments Design secure, scalable, and cost-optimized solutions across: EC2, S3, EBS, EFS VPC, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora IAM, Organizations, Control Tower CloudFront, Route 53 Lambda, API Gateway Implement high availability, DR, and backup strategies (multi-AZ, multi-region) Lead AWS cost optimization Troubleshoot complex AWS issues across compute, network, storage, and security layers 2. Infrastructure & Systems Engineering Manage and optimize Windows & Linux environments Design and maintain: Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD) DNS, DHCP, Group Policies Virtualization experience (VMware / Nutanix) Storage systems (SAN/NAS, backup solutions like Rubrik) Build resilient hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud) 3. Automation & Infrastructure as Code Build and maintain infrastructure Develop automation scripts using: Python / Bash / PowerShell Drive zero-touch provisioning and configuration management Eliminate manual operational tasks 4. Security & Compliance Implement cloud security best practices: IAM least privilege Network segmentation Encryption at rest and in transit Work closely with security teams on: Vulnerability remediation Compliance (ISO, NIST, etc.) Hands-on with tools like: AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF, Shield 5. Monitoring, Reliability & Performance Implement full-stack monitoring Define SLAs, SLOs, and alerts Lead incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) Optimize system performance and uptime 6. DevOps & Platform Engineering Work with Dev teams to enable: CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins) Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes (EKS preferred) Support application deployments and platform stability 7. Leadership & Ownership Act as technical lead for infrastructure decisions Mentor junior engineers Challenge weak designs and propose better alternatives Takes full ownership and not “that’s not my job” mindset Joining time frame: (15 - 30 days)
