Description
Create your best future and join Westpac as an AWS DevOps Lead. What's the role? The AWS DevOps Lead plays a key role in maintaining service levels for critical workloads, providing end-to-end support for business and customer-facing public cloud applications, and ensuring the Customer Managed Support (CMS) team is fit-for-purpose. This role is accountable for service stability, security compliance, major incident ownership, and operational readiness for customer-hosted workloads. The ideal candidate will leverage their broad technical expertise in AWS technologies to bridge service management application support teams and core public cloud delivery teams. In this dynamic 24x7 operations environment, you will drive automation and continuous improvement, support AWS-enabled microservices and infrastructure, and ensure adherence to security, compliance, and cost best practices. The role also involves stakeholder engagement, mentoring the L2 CMS team, and fostering a collaborative "one team" approach while applying Agile practices to deliver value and enhance the customer experience. What do I need? 5+ years of experience in AWS technologies. Extensive Kubernetes experience, ideally deploying microservices on EKS using HELM charts. Sound knowledge of observability and monitoring tools, such as Splunk or AWS CloudWatch. Extensive experience with one or more Infrastructure automation tools - Terraform, CloudFormation. Strong knowledge of scripting and tool development, including Bash/Shell, Ruby, JSON, Python, NodeJS, and JavaScript. Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines using Github, Jenkins, Artifactory, or Bamboo. Strong understanding of microservices architecture and supporting technologies. Experience in technical leadership of offshore support teams. AWS Cloud certification - preferably Professional. Why join us?
