Job Summary
As an AWS Implementation, Operations, and Usage Specialist, you will serve as a key technical expert in deploying, optimizing, and managing applications on AWS. This role combines hands-on implementation and operations with sales engineering responsibilities, where you’ll demonstrate AWS best practices, AI tool integration, and marketplace application development to customers and investors. You’ll ensure our solutions are robust, cost-effective, and aligned with industry standards, while articulating their value to non-technical stakeholders to facilitate sales, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
This is a hybrid role requiring strong technical acumen, operational efficiency, and excellent communication skills. You’ll collaborate with development teams, sales, and executive leadership to deliver high-impact AWS-centric projects.
Key Responsibilities
- AWS Implementation and Deployment:
- Design, implement, and manage AWS infrastructure for application deployment, including services like EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and VPC, following best practices for scalability, security, and high availability.
- Optimize application architectures for cost-efficiency, performance, and resilience using AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
- Automate deployment pipelines with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy.
- Operations and Usage Best Practices:
- Monitor and troubleshoot AWS environments using tools like CloudWatch, X-Ray, and AWS Config to ensure operational excellence and proactive issue resolution.
- Implement disaster recovery, backup strategies, and compliance measures (e.g., IAM policies, encryption, and auditing) to maintain secure and reliable operations.
- Conduct regular audits and optimizations to reduce costs and improve resource utilization.
- AI Tools and Marketplace Application Development:
- Integrate and leverage AWS AI/ML services (e.g., SageMaker, Rekognition, Comprehend, and Bedrock) for building intelligent applications.
- Guide the development and deployment of AI-powered apps for the AWS Marketplace, ensuring they adhere to best practices for packaging, pricing, and customer onboarding.
- Collaborate on prototyping AI solutions, including data pipelines with Glue and Athena, to accelerate time-to-market.
- Sales Engineering and Stakeholder Communication:
- Act as a technical evangelist, explaining complex AWS architectures, AI integrations, and operational benefits to potential customers evaluating our applications on AWS.
- Prepare and deliver demos, proofs-of-concept (POCs), and technical presentations tailored to investors, highlighting ROI, scalability, and innovation in AWS-based investments.
- Support sales cycles by addressing technical queries, creating customized solution proposals, and conducting workshops or webinars on AWS best practices.
- Build relationships with AWS partners and ecosystem players to enhance our offerings.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with engineering teams to align implementations with business goals.
- Stay updated on AWS updates, certifications, and emerging trends in cloud ops and AI to inform strategy.
- Contribute to documentation, training materials, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS services, including implementation, operations, and optimization.
- Proven expertise in AWS best practices for application deployment, such as serverless architectures, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes on AWS), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Experience with AI/ML tools on AWS, including building and deploying models for production environments.
- Familiarity with developing and listing applications on the AWS Marketplace.
- Strong sales engineering or customer-facing experience, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for diverse audiences (e.g., C-level executives, developers, investors).
- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty.
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and version control (Git).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in sales engineering roles within cloud or SaaS companies.
- Knowledge of additional cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) for comparative analysis.
- Background in investor relations or pitching tech solutions to funding sources.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience in tools like PowerPoint, Zoom, or demo platforms.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with remote/hybrid teams.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
