AWS Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking an experienced AWS Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure. The AWS Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud environments, ensuring high availability and performance for critical applications and services.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Route 53.
• Proficient in automating infrastructure provisioning with AWS CLI, Bash, Python, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
• Expertise in using AWS monitoring tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config) for tracking health, logs, and incidents.
• Strong knowledge of AWS security practices, IAM, network security, and encryption techniques.
• Ability to manage AWS costs with tools like Cost Explorer and Budgets; experience with disaster recovery solutions using AWS services.
• Experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect, VPN) and familiarity with version control systems like Git.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, and application teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, or other relevant certifications.
• Experience managing hybrid or multi-cloud environments, integrating AWS with on-premises or other cloud providers.
• Familiarity with containerized applications using Docker, ECS/EKS, and Kubernetes.
• Advanced knowledge of IaC tools like CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK for resource management.
• Strong understanding of Linux and Windows OS in cloud environments and experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline.

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure AWS infrastructure using services like EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail. Automate management with AWS CLI, Bash, Python, CloudFormation, or Terraform to streamline provisioning.
• Continuously monitor AWS resources’ health and performance using AWS tools, ensuring infrastructure is optimized for scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM, VPC security, data encryption, and compliance with regulations. Assist in security audits and disaster recovery planning using AWS services.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime. Design backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
• Work with finance and operations teams to optimize cloud costs using tools like AWS Cost Explorer, Budgets, and Trusted Advisor. Plan infrastructure capacity to meet business demands.
• Manage AWS networking services, including VPC, subnets, VPN, Direct Connect, and Route 53. Ensure regular patch management and system updates to maintain security and stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, development, and security, to ensure infrastructure supports application deployments and business needs. Maintain documentation for infrastructure configurations and operational procedures.
