DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | About the role Job Title AWS Solution Architect Location Spain/ Madrid (hybrid) Business Unit EXN Cloud Reporting Line Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) About the role The AWS Solution Architect is responsible for designing, positioning, and supporting scalable, secure, and commercially viable AWS solutions for partners and customers. The role sits at the intersection of pre‑sales, architecture, and delivery, translating business requirements into well‑architected AWS designs aligned to EXN Cloud offerings and AWS best practices. The role plays a critical part in enabling partner success, services attach, and repeatable AWS solution delivery, supporting initiatives such as migrations, modernisation, security, Marketplace‑enabled solutions, and AWS programmes (e.g. MAP). Key responsibilities Solution Architecture & Design Design end‑to‑end AWS architectures aligned to customer requirements, AWS Well‑Architected Framework, and EXN Cloud standards. Produce high‑quality solution documentation, including architecture diagrams, bills of materials, and implementation guidance. Ensure designs are scalable, secure, resilient, and cost‑optimised. Pre‑Sales & Partner Support Act as trusted technical advisor to partners and customers during pre‑sales and solution definition. Support technical discovery workshops, architecture reviews, and solution validation. Collaborate closely with Sales and Partner Account Managers to support deal progression. AWS Programmes & Offerings Enablement Support AWS migration and modernisation initiatives (including MAP) through architecture input and technical validation. Contribute to the definition and improvement of repeatable, packaged AWS offerings (e.g. migration, security, FinOps). Ensure solutions are aligned to AWS Marketplace and partner‑led transaction models where applicable. Delivery Readiness & Handover Work with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition from design to implementation. Provide technical oversight and escalation support during delivery when required. Ensure architectural integrity is maintained through implementation phases. Capability Development & Enablement Maintain strong alignment with AWS services, reference architectures, and evolving best practices. Support enablement of internal teams and partners through knowledge‑sharing, workshops, and documentation. Maintain required AWS certifications and contribute to overall practice maturity. Success measures Quality and consistency of AWS solution designs Pre‑sales effectiveness and contribution to pipeline progression Services attach and adoption of repeatable offerings Partner and customer satisfaction with technical engagement Alignment to AWS Well‑Architected and EXN Cloud standards QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE | About you The ideal AWS Solution Architect : Experience & qualifications Strong hands‑on experience designing solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solid understanding of core AWS services (compute, storage, networking, security, identity, monitoring) Experience supporting pre‑sales or customer‑facing technical roles Understanding of migration and modernisation use cases Familiarity with AWS commercial constructs (e.g. Marketplace, programmes) is desirable AWS certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect Associate / Professional) preferred Personal attributes Structured and analytical approach to problem solving Strong communication skills; able to explain complex architectures clearly Customer‑ and partner‑centric mindset Comfortable working in cross‑functional, matrixed environments Hands‑on experience executing AWS Marketplace transactions, with strong exposure to Private Offers.
