JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a motivated AWS SysOps/DevOps Engineer with 2-3 years of relevant experience to join our growing technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for the deployment, management, and optimization of our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will play a critical part in building and maintaining scalable, highly available, and secure systems, while championing automation and DevOps best practices. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AWS system administration, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and significant hands-on experience with serverless architectures.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of proven experience as a SysOps Administrator, DevOps Engineer, or in a similar role with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Significant hands-on experience with serverless technologies, including AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and an understanding of event-driven architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with core AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Route 53, CloudWatch).
  • Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS SAM.
  • Experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodeDeploy).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Node.js.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., VPCs, subnets, security groups, routing).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS, ECS).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, or AWS Certified Developer - Associate.
  • Experience with serverless monitoring and debugging tools (e.g., AWS X-Ray, Datadog, Lumigo).
  • Experience optimizing serverless applications for performance and cost.
  • Knowledge of databases commonly used in serverless architectures, such as DynamoDB.
  • Experience migrating monolithic applications to microservices or serverless architectures.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Manage Serverless Applications: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, event-driven serverless applications using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS, and SNS.
  • Automate and Manage Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain our AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or the AWS Serverless Application Model (SAM).
  • Build and Maintain CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and manage our CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment, testing, and release of both traditional and serverless applications.
  • Operate and Scale Cloud Services: Deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS, leveraging both server-based (EC2) and serverless compute.
  • Monitor and Optimize Performance: Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and cost across all services. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and implement cost-saving measures, with a special focus on optimizing Lambda function performance and cost.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security policies, access controls (IAM), and data protection measures for all cloud resources, including serverless functions and their triggers.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Establish and manage robust backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes for stateful components of our architecture (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB, S3).
  • Support and Troubleshoot: Act as an escalation point for cloud-related issues. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and optimize application performance in the cloud.
  • Containerization: Manage and operate containerized applications using Docker and orchestration services like AWS EKS or ECS where appropriate.
