About the program The Working in Science Internship Program is designed for last year's students and recent graduates who want to apply what they’ve learned in a real, global biotechnology environment. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects, gain mentorship, and develop skills that set you up for future success. Department description: The Axial Program it is a once in a generation project to transform the way we work every day and enabling us to reach our full potential in AstraZeneca. The Axial will provide a 'digital backbone' right across the entire organisation. We will implement globally standardised processes and a common data model that will enhance our operational and financial management, supported by the new SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Resource Platform. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the AXIAL Project within the Intelligent Clinical Supply Chain (ICSM) Process tower, working with Deployment leads, Process Leads and Experts to define the future ways of working for delivering clinical supplies to the AstraZeneca development portfolio. The role will collaborate with a diverse set of global stakeholders to gather, interpret, and translate end user needs into project deliverables, including user requirements, process maps, SOPs, work instructions, and training materials. As the project moves into its next phase, there can be scope to participate in system testing and user acceptance activities. General hiring requirements Eligibility: Internship open to current students (undergraduate or postgraduate) and recent graduates; Availability: Ability to commit to a full-time internship (7hrs per day/5days a week) for a 3 months period with anticipated start date July 2026; Language: Proficiency/Advanced in English (written and spoken); Location/Hybrid: Willingness to work in a hybrid model as required by the team’s cadence and project needs (3days per week working from office); Professional Conduct: Commitment to confidentiality, data privacy, and adherence to company policies and compliance standards. Documentation: Resume/CV and brief motivation statement; Required skills, candidate background: Academic Background: Studying toward or recently completed a degree in Supply Chain, Clinical Trials, Business, Information Systems, Data/Analytics, Life Sciences, or related fields; Process Mindset: Strong interest in process mapping, process improvement, and operating model design Documentation & Communication: Ability to write SOPs, process documentation, and training materials; strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills. Project Skills: Basic knowledge of project management (timelines, risks, RAID logs) and comfort working in agile or hybrid delivery environments. Tech Tools: Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence/SharePoint, and collaboration tools (Teams) Quality & Compliance Awareness: Awareness of GxP principles and the importance of controlled processes in clinical supply environments. Soft Skills/Collaboration Skills: Growth mindset, attention to detail, structured problem solving, and ability to work cross-functionally, globally in a fast-paced setting. Nice to have ERP Familiarity: Foundational understanding of ERP concepts (e.g., master data, MRP, inventory, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay). Exposure to SAP and awareness of S/4HANA differences is advantageous Testing & Adoption: Ability to contribute to UAT, test script execution, issue logging, and training assets for end users Data focus: Assist with master data cleansing/mapping (materials, BOMs, suppliers, sites), data validation, and governance activities Key details Eligibility: Final year students and recent graduates.
