Axial Technology Non-SAP Data Applications Remediation Lead - 24 Month FTC
Location: Macclesfield or Luton UK
AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven Biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialisation of prescription medicines for some of the world’s most serious disease. But we are more than one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies.
AstraZeneca (AZ) is in a period of rapid growth and our employees have a united purpose to make a difference to patients around the world who need both our medicines and the ongoing developments from our science. In this journey AZ must continue to work across borders and with partners and new colleagues in a fast and seamless way. The ambition, size, and complexity of the organisation, coupled with the opportunities afforded by innovative technology, has led the Board to approve a large-scale transformation of the IT landscape by the replacement of current ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems with one global solution.
Our current technology is used by more than 20,000 employees daily, is foundational to all AZ entities and is central to most core business processes. This programme provides the opportunity for real transformation and to shape the way of working globally for many years to come.
This programme, the Axial programme, requires the best. Whether it be the technical skills, business understanding or change leadership, we want to ensure we have the strongest team deployed throughout. The programme seeks to deliver a world class change programme that leaves all employees with a fuller understanding of their role in the end-to-end nature of our global company. This programme will provide AZ with a competitive edge, to the benefits of its employees and patients.

The Technology Data Applications Remediation Lead works with a range of other groups within Axial Technology, Design and Data Teams, across AZ and with other partners, including Accenture, SAP and Global IT counterparts (all IT C4Es and COEs).
Whilst the role reports to the Executive Director for Solution Design and Delivery, the incumbent will work closely with the Non-SAP Remediation and Global IT teams and will ensure the Axial deployment does not disrupt existing operations. The Non-SAP team cover transactional systems and solutions and the Non-SAP Data Applications Remediation Lead covers data platforms, applications and services consuming/providing data to legacy Non-SAP reporting solutions and other users. They will identify, assess, align designs, agree on solutions, and implement remedial measures, along with migration of data for Non-SAP applications within the agreed Axial timescales covering all aspects of data outside of core SAP S/4HANA.
This role will build and lead an effective approach to the identification and remediation of all data applications and platforms impacted by the Axial programme. The role supports the development of aligned roadmaps for all future deployment activities that impact on the existing data applications and platforms across Global IT. The Non-SAP Data Applications Remediation Lead is responsible to ensure that all impacted data applications have the appropriate remediation activities implemented ahead of testing and deployment in alignment with integrated programme plans.
The role will ensure our approach to data application remediation remains consistent and aligned across Axial deployments covering any in scope data platforms, services and solutions. The role will also ensure we deliver on our Axial ambitions in a collaborative way and work to ensure continuous improvements in the quality and pace of data application remediation activities.
What you’ll do
The Non-SAP Data Applications Remediation Lead will work in close collaboration with the Global IT Business Technology Groups, and other CoEs and third parties as needed, to ensure effective identification and impact assessments are handled seamlessly and the stakeholder relationships across Axial and Global IT are working effectively.
Throughout this collaboration, an aligned strategy, approach and collaborative relationship must be created and maintained throughout the multiple Axial deployments.
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of activities in operational partnership with the Non-SAP Application Remediation team:
