Description

GFL Environmental is looking for a safe and experienced full-time AZ Driver for immediate hire.
Location: 219 Industrial Park Crescent, Sault Ste Marie, ON.
The AZ Driver will be completing long haul deliveries primarily throughout Ontario with various trailer setups within the Canada South of 60, 7-day Cycle 1. Hauling includes but is not limited to recycling, refuse, heavy equipment, landscaping supplies, aggregates, bins, etc. Third party and inter-company hauling throughout Canada and the United States may be required. Experience with heavy hauling and the operation of walking floor trailers is an asset.
Home terminal will be 219 Industrial Park Crescent in Sault Ste. Marie. In-person applications accepted.
Minimum requirements: 5 years’ experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Valid AZ license
  • Clean drivers abstract and CVOR
  • Must be physically fit to be successful in the position
  • Experience dump truck, walking floor, heavy and over-sized loads, live-bottom and end dump trailer work, flat deck and float transportation is an asset.
  • Must be able to adapt to daily changes in project assignment to satisfy the needs of the customer.
  • Able to work weekends and nights when required
Responsibilities
  • Ensure that service is completed in accordance with established company policies and contract obligations
  • Responsible for daily electronic driving log book and inspections of assigned assets
  • Complete daily routes as assigned by the Route supervisors
  • Satisfy customer needs for service
  • Perform end of day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
  • Ensure assigned routes are completed in a timely and safe manner
  • May perform some additional responsibilities as assigned by the Route Supervisors
  • Adhere to the “Safe For Life” practice within the workplace
