Description

Claire’s Delivery, Transportation, & Logistics, a division of JD Smith, is currently seeking an experienced full-time AZ Driver to join our team at our facility in Port Colborne, Ontario. In addition to working an average of 8 – 10 hours per day Monday through Friday, you will work 1 day on the weekend in a rotation (approximately once a month). Your start time will be 1:00pm but may vary depending on appointment time. You will be delivering dry bulk product, so you must be physically capable of pulling and hooking up hoses. Experience would be an asset, but we will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Dispatch to maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery time.
  • Advise Dispatch immediately when conditions change, and an assigned load cannot be picked up or delivered on schedule.
  • Use route navigation apps and knowledge of area to deliver packages to customers on time
  • Interact with customers in a professional manner.
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Complete thorough pre- and post-trip inspections at the start and end of each shift.
  • Monitor service and safety inspection requirements of assigned tractor and trailers.
  • Keep vehicle clean and litter free.
  • Drive safely at all times.
  • Adhere to company speed policies.
  • Report any incidents or accidents immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a clean drivers abstract and CVOR
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • Must be physically fit
  • Must be able to cross the Canada / US border – passport required
  • Drug testing is mandatory for the successful applicant
