JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials within the local area, ensuring timely and safe delivery while adhering to all traffic regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of freight handling, commercial driving, and the operation of heavy equipment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred but not mandatory for all applicants.
  • Experience in freight handling and transportation logistics is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in operating forklifts and heavy equipment safely.
  • Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations related to commercial driving.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive repair is a plus to assist with vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently to transport freight to designated locations.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transit.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transport.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate loading schedules and ensure timely dispatch of shipments.
  • Utilize forklift and other heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Assist with basic automotive repairs as necessary to maintain vehicle functionality.
