Location: Sudbury, ON
Cardinal Couriers is looking for motivated individuals to join our team. This position is responsible for loading orders into an assigned company vehicle and following a predetermined route to ensure that all deliveries are made safely and on time. This is a physically demanding, fast-paced environment that requires driving, lifting, lowering, and carrying packages to ensure damage free delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operating and maneuvering heavy trucks, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
  • Transporting goods or materials over long distances or local routes, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Ensuring proper loading of cargo onto the truck, securing it to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • Assisting with unloading cargo at delivery points, verifying quantities against delivery documents.
  • Navigating unfamiliar routes confidently and efficiently to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck, checking mechanical and safety systems (e.g., brakes, tires, lights).
  • Reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to fleet management or maintenance staff.
  • Maintaining accurate records of driving hours, rest periods, mileage, and delivery logs.
  • Communicating effectively with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
  • Providing excellent customer service during interactions with clients at delivery sites.
  • Adhering strictly to safety protocols and procedures to ensure personal safety and the security of cargo.
  • Reporting any accidents, incidents, or safety violations promptly.
