POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to transport freight between designated locations across Ontario, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries. Key duties include adhering to all MTO regulations and company safety standards, performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and properly securing cargo for transport. Maintains accurate delivery records and ensures freight reaches its destination on schedule.

ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Complete and manage all required shipping documentation
  • Adhere to all applicable MTO regulations and compliance standards
  • Safely load, secure, and unload cargo as per company and legal requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date travel logs and trip records
  • Transport cargo safely and efficiently to assigned destinations
  • Perform routine vehicle safety checks before and after each trip
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Responsibilities
  • Operates vehicle safely and responsibly, adhering to all MTO and company safety regulations.
  • Conducts routine inspections prior to departure to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
  • Manages appropriate cargo documentation and provides necessary paperwork upon the delivery of goods.
  • Coordinates the loading and unloading of the truck, verifying cargo and ensuring items are properly stored and secured.
  • Maintains contact with dispatcher to provide status updates, clarify special instructions, and notify about delays or issues during transport.
