JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a 2 skilled AZ drivers and 1 reliable Roll Off Driver with a minimum DZ licence to join our team. We offer RRSP matching and a Health Spending Account, after the completion of a mandatory probationary period.
Main Purpose of the Job: to safely and efficiently transport and deliver material over short or long haul while maintaining the company’s image and reputation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful applicant must be 25 years of age or more and have no less than 3 years experience operating the same type of equipment for dry-bulk haulage and possess a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence in the class of requirement for the job and a satisfactory driving and CVOR record.

• Letter(s) of Experience from previous employers indicating dates worked and type of trailer(s) operated while in their employ.
• A resume indicating your Ontario Driver’s Licence Number.
• Knowledge of MTO transportation regulations and safely protocols.
• Excellent english written and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Able to pass a random drug test.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.50-$29.50 per hour

• Operating and maintaining a variety of commercial trucks, including truck-trailer combinations, and specialized vehicles and 3 and 4 axle trailers including end-dumps, belly-dumps and live-bottoms, ensuring they are in safe working order.
• Driving safely and efficiently while following all traffic laws and regulations and maintaining a safe driving record.
• Adhere to all Provincial transportation regulations.
• Demonstrate a knowledge of vehicle systems operations and maintenance.
• Conducting and documenting thorough Pre-Trip inspections before each shift using Schedule 1 and completing walk-arounds of the vehicle(s) throughout the day and at the end of shift for new defects.
• Report all mechanical problems, required maintenance, service or defects to the mechanic in a timely manner, maintenance and service before it is due and major defects (as per Schedule 1) at time of finding.
• Familiarize yourself with the location of required documentation in the truck before operating it including the contents of the Equipment Information Manual, fuel credit cards and the ELD Cab card, verifying they have valid expiry dates.
• Correctly and efficiently operate an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and follow Hours of Service (HOS) regulation.
• Ensure that all required PPE are available in the vehicle and worn where required including pick-up and delivery locations, jobsites and truck yards.
• Maintain vehicles cleanliness inside and outside.
• When loading material ensure it is loaded correctly for the trailer and all loads are centered and secured with locked gates and covered by the tarp.
• Communicate with dispatchers, fellow team members, clients, jobsite employees and the public in a respectable effective manner, including face to face, text, telephone, emails or other written methods.
• Provide exceptional, professional customer service during interactions with clients.
• Follow assigned routes ensuring timely and accurate delivery and obtain documentation.
• Complete accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel usage and hours on timesheets and maintain precise drivers’ daily logs using the ELD system and paper where required
• Perform minor roadside repairs.
• Manage and organize time ensuring all loads are completed in accordance with the client’s & Company dispatch schedule.
• Attend required training courses and use the knowledge acquired in the workplace.
