POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Azure Cloud Engineer to manage, monitor, and optimize our Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This role will be responsible for day-to-day administration, security, performance, and availability of Azure services and resources. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, automation, and security, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing Azure environments in a production setting
  • Strong experience with:
  • Azure IaaS and PaaS services
  • Azure Active Directory and hybrid identity configurations
  • Networking in Azure (VNets, NSGs, VPN, ExpressRoute)
  • Monitoring and logging tools (Log Analytics, Azure Monitor)
  • PowerShell and/or Azure CLI scripting
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and practices
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform)
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration tools, and serverless architectures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104: Azure Administrator Associate, AZ-500, AZ-305)
  • Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience with cost management and FinOps practices
  • Familiarity with DevOps workflows (CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, Azure DevOps)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor Azure resources including serverless applications, storage, networking, and identity services.
  • Implement and maintain security controls using Azure Security Center, Azure Defender, and Azure Policies in coordination with Security teams.
  • Optimize Azure costs using native tools and by analyzing resource utilization and recommending improvements.
  • Configure and manage conditional access, RBAC, and identity governance.
  • Work closely with other teams to implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
  • Create and maintain automation scripts and runbooks (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Logic Apps).
  • Manage Azure backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity solutions.
  • Monitor system health and performance through Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
  • Support compliance and governance efforts across cloud environments.
  • Stay current with Azure services, features, and best practices, and make recommendations accordingly.
