Job Description As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will join the Derby team to support our activities within the aerospace sector. Working as a consultant for ALTEN, you will play a key role in enabling the delivery of complex engineering software and digital systems by developing and maintaining robust DevOps pipelines and infrastructure. This role will see you working in a highly regulated aerospace environment, supporting the continuous integration, delivery and deployment of mission-critical applications used in advanced propulsion and engineering programmes. Location: Derby On Site: Full Time – 4 days per week on site Clearance: Full right to work in the UK Experience Level: Junior/Entry Level (Up to 4 Years of Experience) Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to support engineering software delivery. Manage and maintain version control systems, including Git and SVN, ensuring best practice workflows are followed. Support automated build, test and deployment processes across multiple environments. Work across Linux and Windows environments, ensuring compatibility and reliability of deployment pipelines. Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Batch scripting. Collaborate with software, systems and engineering teams to improve development workflows and deployment efficiency. Qualifications Required Skills: Experience with Azure DevOps and building CI/CD pipelines. Strong knowledge of Git workflows and version control practices. Experience working with SVN repositories. Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Batch. Experience operating in both Linux and Windows environments. Understanding of DevOps principles within engineering or regulated environments. Required Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent military experience. Up to 4 years’ experience in DevOps, build engineering, or software delivery environments specifically with Azure. Experience supporting software deployment and automation within structured engineering teams. Desirable Skills: Exposure to aerospace, defence, or safety-critical systems environments. Experience supporting large-scale engineering programmes or digital transformation initiatives. Familiarity with infrastructure as code or containerisation technologies.
