DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a detail-oriented Azure Financial Operations Analyst to support CBP’s cloud financial operations (FinOps) initiatives. This position focuses on cost optimization, budgeting, and resource allocation for Azure services, ensuring efficient financial management and alignment with CBP’s mission. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud financial operations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with technical teams to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-5 years of experience in financial operations, cloud cost management, or related fields.
• Familiarity with Azure services and cloud financial operations tools (e.g., Azure Cost Management, Power BI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource usage.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Understanding of cloud resource consumption models, budgeting, and forecasting.Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in managing financial operations for large-scale cloud environments.
• Knowledge of Azure governance frameworks and cost management best practices.Ability to translate technical resource consumption data into actionable financial insights.

• Cost Optimization: Monitor Azure resource usage, identify underutilized resources, and recommend cost-saving opportunities to maximize efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and forecasts for Azure services, providing insights into future resource consumption and financial planning.
• Financial Reporting: Create dashboards and reports to provide visibility into Azure resource consumption, costs, and trends for leadership and stakeholders.
• Resource Allocation: Analyze reserve usage and schedules to ensure proper cost allocation across teams and projects.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with application teams to provide guidance on resource consumption and cost-effective workload placement.
• Governance: Support the establishment of sustainable governance frameworks for Azure financial operations, ensuring compliance with CBP policies and standards.
• Strategic Recommendations: Provide architecture support for FinOps solutions, offering real-time cost analysis and actionable recommendations to program and budget teams.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial operations processes and implement best practices for cloud cost management.
• Support internal Vamonos IT initiatives and operations as needed.
• Support the Vamonos IT business development initiatives and team.
• Engage/complete continuing education/certification processes as prescribed by customer and/or Vamonos IT.
