JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Azure Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead cloud security, governance, and architecture initiatives across enterprise-level Azure environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in Azure cloud services, security frameworks, and compliance standards, particularly within federal, DoD, or highly regulated environments.

KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or cloud architecture, with at least 3+ years focused on Azure.
  • Proven track record in securing Azure environments, with experience in DoD, FISMA High, or classified settings.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks (FISMA, NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP).
  • Hands-on experience managing security in multi-cloud environments.
  • Strong expertise in Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel, and Azure Policy, Privileged identity management(PIM), Conditional Access Policies and encryption techniques
  • Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks, IAM, and encryption techniques.
  • Experience automating security processes and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and incident response.
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
  • Experience with container security (Kubernetes, Docker) and advanced threat detection in cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement security controls for Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with DoD security guidelines and industry best practices.

  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses, mitigating risks proactively.
  • Implement IAM solutions, including MFA, RBAC, and least privilege access principles.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, ensuring timely resolutions and proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, DevOps, and development teams to integrate security within CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Ensure FISMA, NIST, FIPS, and RMF compliance by maintaining security documentation and regulatory artifacts.
  • Support AWS security initiatives, ensuring a seamless security framework across Azure and AWS environments.
  • Stay ahead of emerging security threats, continuously improving cloud security measures.
  • Provide training and guidance on cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
