Description We are seeking a skilled B-Class Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating and maintaining various machining tools, such as lathes, mills, grinders, and CNC machines, to produce high-precision metal parts. As a B-Class Machinist, you will be responsible for ensuring that parts are machined to exact specifications, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety standards while optimizing production efficiency. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Machining Operations: Operate manual and CNC machines (lathe, mill, grinder, etc.) to produce high-precision metal parts based on work orders, technical drawings, and blueprints. Blueprint & Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machine specifications to determine the appropriate machining processes, tools, and measurements. Setup & Calibration: Set up machines, including the installation and calibration of cutting tools, fixtures, and measuring instruments. Adjust machine settings as required to achieve proper tolerances and part specifications. Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications, ensuring that all measurements are accurate and meet the required tolerances. Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions. Tool & Machine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on machinery, ensuring all equipment is operating at peak efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair machines as needed to minimize downtime. Production Efficiency: Monitor the production process, making adjustments as needed to optimize machining efficiency and ensure parts are produced on time and to specification. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in the workplace. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, etc. Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other machinists to ensure production goals are met and that any machining issues are quickly identified and addressed. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts produced, machine settings, tooling changes, and any issues encountered during the machining process. Preferred Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional training or certification in machining, CNC operations, or related fields is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a machinist, with proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines. Strong experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.). Skills: Proficiency in machining operations, including turning, milling, and grinding, etc. Strong understanding of technical drawings, blueprints, and machining symbols. Ability to set up and calibrate machines for optimal performance. Knowledge of machine programming G-Codes and M-Codes (Gibbs Cam 3D programming is a plus) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues. Familiarity with various materials, including metals, and how they behave during machining processes. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail and focus on maintaining high-quality standards and machine parts Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly. Ability to stand, bend, and work for long periods. Comfortable working in a noisy and industrial environment. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves, etc.
