Job title Maintenance 8 Building & Grounds Reports to Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary This position performs general facilities maintenance duties required for the Milford facilities. The deliverable is a safe and high quality working environment for Milford employees. Essential Functions Ability to work overtime hours as needed on breakdowns and project work. Ability to communicate in a positive way with a variety of personnel (management, office, contractors, factory, etc.) Responsible for maintaining a high safety standard throughout the plant (preventative and predictive maintenance, repairs and improvements) Ability to understand the principles and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, HVAC, security, building structures, etc. Ability to perform the following processes: Welding, Office setup, electrical wiring, water supply / drain maintenance, HVAC troubleshooting, lock and security system maintenance, lighting maintenance. roof repair, painting, carpentry, Etc. Ability to understand and safely follow the Arc Flash plant requirements. Ability to perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment within and outside of facility, which includes all applicable record keeping Training and in-house certification required for in house spill prevention/countermeasures Occasionally required to train other technicians Responsible for 5S and organization of Building & Grounds work areas Ability to understand and implement hazard, non-hazard and universal waste storage and labels Responsible for following plant safety programs (lockout/tagout, confined space, etc.) Ability to gain knowledge and identify general safety issues within the workplace. Must be willing to participate and interact on appropriate plant improvement committees Must be able to perform all physical requirements Minimum Required Qualifications Education: High school degree or GED or equivalent factory experience Experience: Candidate must possess the following: Prior applicable trade or maintenance experience required: This position requires a strong focus on safety. Ability to read, write, and do basic math in English Ability to read and understand building, plumbing, and electrical prints/schematics Must have a general to intermediate understanding in the maintenance fields of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and energy control systems Must be available to enroll and successfully complete CTB’s sponsored Maintenance Training Program (2 to 4 years) Ability to pay attention to detail (identify issues, troubleshoot and corrective action) Forklift license and overhead crane license required Good knowledge of safe rigging principles Ability to operate scissor lift and articulating (boom) lift Ability to work with a computer (Maintenance software) Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities (self-starter) Ability to work in a team environment Must be able to carry out detailed written or oral instruction Working conditions Works in manufacturing environment that can be hot, noisy, oily/grease and dusty at times. Must be able to work in outside weather conditions (hot and humid in the summer and very cold in the winter) Trained to do proper entry into confined space with permits Must be able to work in a professional manner in office environments PPE required (such as long pants and shirts (100% cotton), electrical rated safety toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, harness, hearing protection, gloves, welding PPE, arc flash PPE, air respirator) Working in wet, dusty, dirty.
