Description

BE A PART OF THE CHILDMINDING CO.

The Childminding Co. are a professional, award winning childminding agency, offering servicing Rockhampton and surrounds. We are currently recruiting in-home babysitters as well as group childminders for weddings, events, corporate clients and holiday craft programs. We’re looking for special people who genuinely enjoy caring for children and who can demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experience with references.
Our babysitters operate as independent contractors, meaning they are paid directly and will receive 100% of their earnings with no deducted agency fees. Babysitters can pick and choose which bookings suit them and when, which makes babysitting perfect for those trying to juggle other work and commitments.
Our group childminders are employed by us and paid in accordance with the Miscellaneous Award and National Employment Standards. We manage all the financial stuff for you including tax and super. Group childminders wanting to earn extra are able to “fill in the gaps” with babysitting bookings – if they so wish.
You’ll need these qualifications (or be willing to get them!):

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aged over 18 years
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid Working with Children Check/Blue Card (QLD)
  • Current driver’s licence with own reliable vehicle
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience, with references
  • Whooping cough vaccination (if wanting to care for infants)
Police check and specialised qualifications and skills are well-regarded.

Responsibilities

Babysitters can expect to be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the child’s physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Providing a range of entertainment (age-appropriate toys, colouring, crafts, games etc.)
  • Planning activities and excursions (at the request and additional expense of parents)
  • Feeding provided meals or basic meal preparation
  • Putting children to bed or down for naps
  • Following schedules
  • Assistance with homework
  • Basic child related housework
  • Pet care

A group childminders responsibilities are very similar to a babysitters; however bookings are often at public venues or function areas and have a strong focus on fun. Group childminders are often leading crafts, games and activities while ensuring small groups of children are well looked after and safe. Group childminders will often work as part of a team with care ratios inline with Queensland regulations.
Be recognised as an industry professional and take comfort in knowing that you’re working with proud members of the Australian Nanny Association. If this sounds appealing, apply now or contact Shana to find out more.
