We’re building the next generation of WPP Open, our AI-driven platform transforming marketing workflows across our global network. What you'll be doing: We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our team and help build scalable, serverless applications in the cloud. You’ll work on modern AWS architectures, building event-driven services that support mission-critical workflows. Develop and maintain Node.js applications using TypeScript Build serverless services using AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB) with strong focus on single-table design and indexing strategies Implement asynchronous messaging workflows with SQS, SNS, and EventBridge Monitor and audit services using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and X-Ray Define and provision infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (preferred) or Terraform Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, integrating multi-environment deployments, secure secrets management, and AWS CodeBuild What you'll need: Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript Hands-on experience with AWS serverless stack and event-driven architecture Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code and cloud deployment patterns Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions for multi-environment deployments Strong attention to detail and commitment to writing clean, maintainable code Who you are: You're open: We are inclusive and collaborative; we encourage the free exchange of ideas; we respect and celebrate diverse views.
