What You’ll Do Develop and enhance backend services using Java Build modern, high-performance APIs using Quarkus Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions Implement automated testing (unit, integration, performance) Work daily with AWS services Develop in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) Contribute to event-driven architectures (SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ) Support observability initiatives including logging, metrics, and tracing Follow engineering best practices focused on code quality and maintainability What You Bring Hands-on experience in Java backend development Knowledge of Quarkus Experience with unit and integration testing Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, ECS) Understanding of scalability concepts (auto-scaling, load balancing, clustering, disaster recovery) Basic understanding of observability (logging, metrics, tracing) Knowledge of SOLID, Clean Code, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI principles Nice to Have Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform Knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) Experience with .NET Core, Python, Kotlin, or Go Background in financial services, fintech, or payments Curiosity, eagerness to learn, and proactive contributions to technical improvements English proficiency is a strong plus Legal & Hiring Information Exadel is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to inclusion across minority, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, and more Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Please note: this job description is not exhaustive.
