For one of our clients in Huizen, we are looking for a skilled Backend Developer / BI Specialist to join the Enterprise Information Management team. ✅ TECHNICAL SKILLS:

• Solid experience with ETL development (Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Talend)
• Strong SQL skills; hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
• Experience in Power BI development (DAX, Power BI Service, report publishing)
• Knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing (Kimball/star schema)
• Familiar with scripting in Python or PowerShell
• Experience integrating APIs and working with data formats like JSON and XML

✅ SOFT SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business & Data Management, or related field
• Proactive and flexible mindset — a true go-getter
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communicator, able to translate technical topics into business language
• Fluent in both Dutch and English (written and spoken)

THE ROLE

As a Backend BI Specialist , you are responsible for designing, building, and optimizing ETL pipelines and reporting solutions. You turn raw data into clear insights by working with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and SQL. You collaborate with business analysts, product owners, solution architects, and data managers to define and deliver high-impact dashboards. You will work in a hybrid model , with at least two days per week in Huizen and one day per week in Hengelo.
Each sprint, you take ownership of new components — from requirement gathering to technical design and delivery in Power BI. You are not just a developer, but also a strategic thinker , someone who understands business goals and translates them into scalable, insightful solutions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and build scalable ETL pipelines using tools like Azure Data Factory
• Develop interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI , including DAX calculations
• Model data warehouses and star schemas (including SSAS Tabular)
• Optimize SQL queries and ensure high performance and reliability
• Integrate external data via REST APIs , JSON, and XML
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and KPIs
• Play an active role in the organization’s digital transformation journey
• Suggest improvements in BI processes and promote best practices within the team
