We are Looking for: CLS Health is seeking a Backend Developer (FHIR / API / Automation) to design and implement backend solutions that streamline our coding and revenue cycle management processes. This role will focus on building a rules engine, developing system integrations, and ensuring secure, compliant data exchange with EHR and billing platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development skills combined with hands-on experience in healthcare data standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop a logic engine that categorizes holds, denials, and required documentation. Build and maintain integrations with EHR systems using FHIR/HL7 standards. Connect to billing and claims systems using X12 transactions. Implement audit-trail functionality for compliance and quality monitoring. Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend functionality into user-facing applications. Ensure data security, performance, and reliability in all backend systems. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Participate in system architecture discussions and recommend improvements. Proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Java. Strong knowledge of FHIR/HL7, X12, and healthcare data standards. Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Preferred Experience: Prior experience in healthcare applications, RCM, or EHR integrations. Knowledge of HIPAA security and privacy standards. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Experience with automation frameworks and workflow engines.
