REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERTISE

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience, with a focus on Python.
• Proven previous experience in designing and maintaining production-grade backend systems.
• Expertise with FastAPI or Flask frameworks.
• Strong understanding of API security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, HTTPS, etc.).
• Solid experience with Docker for containerization.
• Experience deploying systems on internal servers as well as cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Proficiency with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis).
• Strong debugging and testing skills with frameworks like Pytest.
• Good understanding of RESTful standards and best practices.
• Familiarity with message brokers and task queues (RabbitMQ, Celery, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience integrating with external APIs and third-party services.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and tools (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring tools) is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration systems.
• Experience with serverless technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of logging and monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.).

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Backend Developer with 5+ years of hands-on coding experience, a strong command of Python, and a proven track record of developing secure, reliable, and scalable backend systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying APIs and backend services to power our AI-driven platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop secure, efficient, and scalable RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask.
• Architect and build backend systems that integrate seamlessly with AI pipelines and data platforms.
• Ensure best practices for security, authentication, and authorization are followed in API development.
• Optimize backend performance, including caching strategies, database optimization, and request handling.
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments to internal servers or cloud environments.
• Manage deployment pipelines and ensure smooth CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data engineers, and AI engineers to deliver complete, production-ready systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues effectively.
• Maintain clear, thorough, and well-documented codebases.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure our systems remain modern and secure.
